Proposal 2

I will be writing an essay on  the Orbit Gum Commercial and the Doublemint Gum Commercial. I chose these two ads because they both have an inappropriate meaning to them. The Orbit Gum Commercial is advertising it's gum by using a group of panelist to give their opinion on the gum. As the panelist are giving their opinion, they block out the curse words that are "being stated" (a child is included in the panel as well). I chose the Doublemint Gum Commercial, featuring Chris Brown, because it was being promoted in a provocative way. Chris Brown used his song "Forever" in the tune of "Double your pleasure, double your fun" (Doublemint's slogan) to promote the commercial.Throguhout the commercial, he his bringing a feeing of sex appeal. When he beats up Rihanna, the commercial is taken off air. Both of the commercials are related because they both have some kind of inappropriate tension towards them. I think its ironic that they kept the Orbit Gum Commercial on air and not The Doublemint Gum Commercial because they both give a representation of the same thing.

This drawing is a description of my 2 Ads for my next essay. The First drawing is about the Orbit Gum commercial where they blocked out the curse words and they also had a child in the video. The next drawing is about Chris Brown advertising the Double Mint Gum commercial but when he beats Rihanna he is dropped from the company. I used gum commercial because they show how inappropriate they can be to the public eye. Also, there is tension between the two ads. Even though the Orbit commercial is inappropriate, it remained on air. The message you will receive from the developing essay is how the advertisement of a piece of gum can bring about a variety lessons in life by using celebrities and actors to convey different messages.
